Álvaro Arbeloa’s Fulham give up on one Real Madrid youngster, but consider move for another | OneFootball

Premier League outfit Fulham are continuing to keep a close eye on the academy setup at La Liga giants Real Madrid ahead of the upcoming summer transfer deadline.

This comes amid the understanding that Manuel Ángel is the latest Blancos talent to have made his way onto the radar of those in the boardroom at Craven Cottage.

Fulham and Real Madrid have of course already done business on a pair of occasions this summer. After Álvaro Arbeloa took his managerial talents to West London, the former defender quickly cast his eye back to Spain’s capital for reinforcements.

This ultimately culminated in both Gonzalo García and César Palacios following their ex-manager to the Premier League.

Arbeloa’s targets at Valdebebas did not end there, with the 43-year-old having also set his sights on the services of Thiago Pitarch. But after it was made clear that the midfield starlet features firmly in the plans of José Mourinho and his staff, Fulham’s headmaster is now understood to have switched focus to yet another Real Madrid youngster.

As per a report from Marca:

‘With Thiago Pitarch ruled out, the English club are considering Manuel Ángel as an alternative.’

It is added that Ángel, a 22-year-old midfielder, is in active negotiations with Cádiz over a potential late-window move to Spanish football’s 2nd tier, but Fulham could yet swoop to reunite the Castilla talent with former teammates García and Palacios in England’s capital.
