Under pressure after back-to-back Liga losses, Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa urged a reaction and offered reassurance over Kylian Mbappé’s knee, according to L'Équipe.

Speaking on Thursday ahead of the trip to Celta Vigo at 21:00, he said this was the time for him and his players to prove they deserve the shirt and crest.

Asked about Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, respectively receiving treatment in Paris and London, Arbeloa said both are being monitored by Real’s medical and performance departments. He is in regular contact with Mbappé, who is resting his left knee, and will assess him day by day, adding that, for now, he has only positive updates. He did not give any timeframe for his top scorer’s return.

Madrid have lost 1-2 to Osasuna and 0-1 to Getafe in their last two league matches. Arbeloa, who replaced Xabi Alonso in January, accepted the mood had dipped but said the season remains long.

He maintained they will fight until the title is mathematically beyond reach. With 36 points still available, he noted they are four behind Barcelona, not 18, and vowed to compete in every match.
