Palmeiras academy centre-back Naves joined Portugal’s Alverca on loan in mid-2025 and is not expected to return to Brazil, with plans forming to keep him in Europe.

According to Nosso Palestra, Alverca do not have the means to buy him outright, so they are working on a back-to-back deal with another Portuguese club.

The proposal would see Alverca purchase Naves then immediately sell him on for a higher fee, allowing them to collect a share of the profit from the final move.

Palmeiras want between five and six million euros, around R$ 30 to R$ 38 million at current rates, and intend to keep a percentage of any future sale before agreeing a permanent exit.

The club will wait for the loan to end in July 2026 to assess offers and, if a linked operation materialises, do not plan to make negotiations straightforward.

Naves is not in Palmeiras’ plans once the loan ends. He is also not keen on returning and wishes to continue his career in European football.

Next up for Palmeiras, Internacional v Palmeiras, Brasileirão, 12/02, 21.30 Brasília time. Then Palmeiras v Guarani, Paulistão, 15/02, 20.30 Brasília time.
