We heard from Enzo Maresca in his press conference earlier today, now it’s Tottenham manager Thomas Frank’s turn to speak to the press ahead of the Chelsea – Spurs game tomorrow afternoon.

He started off by flattering our coach:

“Enzo has done an amazing job at Chelsea. Competing on more than one front. Won the Club World Cup and had a good start,” the Spurs boss said.

“They’re clear in what they want to achieve and how they play. It’ll be another nice Premier League challenge against a good team.”

It’s going to be a really interesting game. Incredibly, Tottenham have won just 4 of their last 18 at home, and while Frank has made their defence far more solid than it was under Ange Postecoglou, their struggling to score.

Both teams are going to try and avoid losing this one, and we can definitely see it being a bit of a damp squib 1-1, with set pieces and lots of niggly fouls making for a slow and ugly game.

On the other hand, there’s bound to be a bit of spice and some cards, especially with this Chelsea team’s record. Perhaps a red or a bit of a brawl could spark the atmosphere and we could end up with a thriller. Frank certainly thinks it will be:

“There is so much on it against a very good Chelsea team. It has everything to be a top game that will hopefully put you on the edge of your seat. We need to come flying out and get the fans with us.

A game like this, under the floodlights against Chelsea. I can’t wait for it. It will be a fantastic occasion.”

Let’s hope he’s right.

In other news…

Estevao has spoken to Chelsea TV about his feelings on becoming a fresh Blue – as you’d expect, he’s full of wide-eyed wonderment.

In his press conference today, Enzo Maresca spoke about his criticism of his squad post game, and blamed its harshness on a translation issue.
