AmaZulu FC signs Langelihle Mhlongo to strengthen their midfield!
In a strategic move to strengthen their roster, AmaZulu FC has officially welcomed attacking midfielder Langelihle Mhlongo to their squad for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. The 24-year-old joins as a free agent after concluding a four-year tenure with provincial rivals Richards Bay FC.
The club formally introduced their new acquisition at the AmaZulu Fan Experience, where President Sandile Zungu personally welcomed him. The official club announcement confirmed the details, stating:
“AmaZulu Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of KwaMashu-born attacking midfielder Langelihle Mhlongo, who joins Usuthu on a permanent deal as a free agent.”
The statement further elaborated, “The 24-year-old arrives after spending four seasons with KwaZulu-Natal neighbours Richards Bay FC. Mhlongo was officially welcomed to the Usuthu family by Club President Sandile Zungu at the AmaZulu Fan Experience, where excitement filled the air. He will be donning jersey number 3 this season.”
Mhlongo's journey to the top flight began at the amateur level, where he developed his talents with clubs such as Magic Future Stars and Ethekwini Coastal, before earning his first professional contract with Richards Bay. Now, under the guidance of coach Arthur Zwane, he is set to embark on the next chapter of his career with Usuthu.
