América and Toluca ‘in talks’ over Emiliano Gómez | OneFootball

América have yet to make any signings or departures, but Puebla attacker Emiliano Gómez has emerged as a leading option as they weigh only two or three additions.

ESPN reports that América and Toluca are negotiating for the player. No agreement is in place, and a decision is expected next week, with Gómez due to leave Puebla whatever happens.

Gómez has caught the eye, notably running 80 metres with the ball, beating Sergio Ramos and Héctor Moreno before setting up Ricardo Marín, who finished superbly.

Quick and direct, he excels one-on-one and can both create and score. He is likened to Diego Valdés, more explosive but with slightly less vision, and has been Puebla’s standout.

At 24, he is considered ready for a step up. América are not expected to announce anything until their Apertura 2025 campaign concludes.
