Club América are less than a month from the Apertura 2026 opener at Querétaro’s Estadio Corregidora, yet their squad remains unsettled while they work through pre-season in Spain.
According to Americayya.net, no signings have been announced and arrivals could take time, with targets currently involved in the World Cup. Some of those set to depart did not report back to Coapa at the start of pre-season.
Confirmed exits are Néstor Araujo and Ralph Orquín, both out of contract and now free agents. Aarón Mejía’s loan has been cut short, so he will return to Xolos. Jonathan dos Santos has retired.
Neither Vinícius Lima, who will return to Fluminense, nor Rodrigo Dourado, who is available for transfer, features in Almada’s plans.
Israel Reyes, Sebastián Cáceres and Brian Rodríguez are at the World Cup and could depart, with talk of overseas offers for all three.
With exits confirmed and incoming business pending, América’s squad remains undefined as preparations continue.
