América host Chivas at the Estadio Azteca on Saturday, with both sides eyeing the summit and a probable home XI taking shape.
According to Americayya.net, the competition is at its midway point, with Chivas second on 17 points and América one behind with a game in hand.
América have started strongly, recording five wins, one draw and one defeat. That run came despite signings arriving late. Against Cruz Azul, none of the new arrivals started and three were left in the stands.
Chivas opened the campaign inconsistently, then lifted themselves with back-to-back victories over San Luis and Pumas. It is expected to be a tight contest, with the visitors seen as in better rhythm, while América could introduce reinforcements.
In goal, Rodolfo Cota is very likely to keep his place.
At the back, Santiago Mingo could make his debut alongside Ramón Juárez at centre-back, with Israel Reyes on the right and Cristian Borja on the left.
Midfield options include Ícaro da Conceicao with Erick Sánchez, with Raphael Veiga ahead of them.
Up front, Brian Rodríguez on the left, Alejandro Zendejas on the right and Miguel Borja through the middle are the expected picks.
