According to Americayya.net, América will face Chivas twice in 15 days, starting at Estadio Azteca on Saturday 19 at nine pm, then meeting again in the United States on Sunday, four October at six thirty pm at Alameda County Coliseo.
América have opened the tournament strongly with five wins, one draw and one defeat, despite new signings arriving late. Against Cruz Azul, none of the recruits started and three watched from the stands.
The indication is that the Chivas clash could finally bring a more complete side, with signings on the pitch and a line-up close to a liguilla XI.
Chivas began inconsistently but have lifted themselves with consecutive wins over San Luis and Pumas. It is expected to be tight, with the visitors arriving in better footballing rhythm, while América could showcase their additions.
The fixture also carries history, as América are chasing their 100th victory over Chivas, having reached 99.
The October meeting falls during a FIFA window, when Liga MX pauses, so both teams will have several absences. América expect five or six call-ups, while Chivas are likely to have around four. Official squad lists for the window have not yet been announced.
