América will have been interested to learn that a European club has been sniffing after attacker Federico Viñas.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan with Las Águilas from Uruguayan Primera División club Juventud.
However, ESPN Mexico has reported that a Spanish club has approached Juventud about Viñas.
The player has just linked back up with Miguel Herrera’s men after representing Uruguay at the U23 CONMEBOL pre-Olympic qualifying tournament.
He registered his first goal for his country during La Celeste’s 3-2 loss to Bolivia.
While no concrete offer has been made, it seems it would make little difference.
Juventud reportedly told the Spanish club in question that América has first crack at Viñas when the loan agreement expires after the Clausura.
The Azulcrema seem certain to exercise their option on him, given that Viñas has scored five goals in just 10 games since his arrival last August.
