Amine Gouiri has made a habit of punishing OL, the club that nurtured him, proving decisive across his last five meetings against Lyon for Nice, Rennes and Marseille. According to Le Progres, the Algeria international joined OM a year ago and continues to trouble his former side.
He left OL in July 2020 after making his senior debut. With Nice, he scored his first goal against Lyon on 19 December 2020, though OGC Nice lost 1-4. In the return, his first visit to Groupama Stadium, he set up the winner in a 3-2 away success.
At Rennes on 16 October 2022, he scored in a 3-2 victory at Roazhon Park, then found the net again in the reverse fixture at Décines, where OL won 3-1. He added a goal and an assist in a 3-0 home win on 18 August 2024.
For OM, on two February 2025, he teed up Mason Greenwood in a 3-2 Olympico victory. On 31 August last, OM lost 1-0 at Groupama Stadium and Gouiri stayed on the bench.
In total, the Bourgoin-Jallieu native has four goals and three assists against OL, and has contributed to five goals across his past five appearances in this fixture. He has been more decisive only against Angers and Metz in Ligue 1.
