Amorim admits United must 'change the man' if they want new philosophy | OneFootball

Ruben Amorim would have largely expected to receive heaps of questions about his future at Manchester United on Sunday following the club's 3-0 loss to rivals Manchester City.

The match means the Portuguese boss has won only 8 matches in charge in the Premier League despite leading the team in 31 of them.

When addressing concerns from the media after Sunday's derby, however, the 40-year-old appeared to virtually challenge the club to let him go.

"I won't change my philosophy," he said in response to if his approach is working at the club. "If they [INEOS] want it changed, you change the man."

“It’s not a record we should have in Manchester United. There are a lot of things you have no idea what happened in these months. But I am not going to change.”

"My message is I will do everything. I will give everything. It is not my decision the rest. I will do my best. I am suffering more than them."

Looking ahead in the calendar, Amorim will next have a chance to win back the fans' faith during a clash with Chelsea next Saturday. The club currently sits 14th in the table.
