Amorim Commences Well at Milan Despite Tactical Enigmas | OneFootball

Milan are off to a pretty good start, having collected seven points in the first three rounds, despite not being totally convincing offensively. Ruben Amorim hasn’t solved a few tactical conundrums, which is affecting some key contributors.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Adrien Rabiot doesn’t seem at ease as a no.10, as he often has to play with his back to the goal. He’s more accustomed to having room for his channel runs. He was impactful in his first two cameos, but not so much in his first against Juventus.

The new Milan also fielded Alexis Saelemaekers and Diego Moreira from the get-go in Turin, but their positions didn’t seem to fit them. The former wasn’t effective behind the striker, while the newcomer struggled to contain the opponents on the wing. He’s been severely outplayed by Samuele Chukwueze so far.

Amorim hasn’t given Christian Pulisic any minutes so far. He missed the entire pre-season program due to a microfracture, but he was available for the first three rounds. Gonçalo Ramos has scored once but also either squandered a few chances or received too few feeds. Alphadjo Cissé has been the lone consistent bright spot.

They have a couple of problems that will be easy to solve. They have a few versatile players, which is occasionally a double-edged sword, as they must figure out the best way to use them. It seems that those who had more time to work with their new gaffer have an upper hand for now, but that will easily change progressively. It’s hard to imagine that their final and best version will feature Musah and Pervis Estupinan in the end.
