Amorim wants to bolster Milan’s defence this summer, with Lecce centre-back Tiago Gabriel on a shortlist that also includes Sporting’s Gonçalo Inácio.
Calciomercato reports that Inácio is the coach’s leading preference, and Amorim knows him well from his time at Sporting. The defender has a 60 million euros release clause, although Milan are assessing whether a deal could be struck below that figure.
Tiago Gabriel is viewed as the alternative and has also attracted Benfica’s interest. The young defender has grown in stature at Lecce and is among the Portuguese options followed by bigger clubs this summer.
Lecce are seeking between 25 and 30 million euros for the centre-back, a demand that could shape any negotiations.
Benfica made an opening offer of about 20 million euros for the Portugal Under-21 international, which the Italian club rejected.
