QPR have a tough test this weekend against Bristol City, with the Robins flying high in the Championship so far this season.
Led by Nigel Pearson, it has gone a lot more smoothly this year for the Robins than it did during the last campaign. They spent the majority of 2021/22 near the bottom of the table but this time around, they have picked up 14 points out of 27 and are tenth in the standings.
QPR though have been equally as impressive under new boss Mick Beale. They are higher than the Robins and will be happy with their current position of seventh. The only thing the club will want more is to get into the top six and be in the promotion hunt. So far, the signs are that they could be.
If they pick up a win here, then it would certainly help a lot – and here is how the Hoops could line up for this next fixture.
Luckily for QPR, they do have a few players coming back into the first-team fold this week. They’ve had a number of injuries to contend with to some important players in Jake Clarke-Salter and Luke Amos but both should be available for selection here.
However, even with the former back-to-match fitness, it would be a surprise to see him thrown straight back into the team for this game. Last time out against Stoke, the side kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw, so it would be difficult to justify swapping out a team that shutout the opposition. That means the excellent Jimmy Dunne should hold onto his spot, as should Leon Balogun in the centre of defence.
Moving up the field and Luke Amos could be the one returnee who gets thrown straight in. Andre Dozzell played some accurate passes and didn’t look awful against the Potters but was subbed off at half-time. Amos then could come in there and feature in a three-man midfield with Stefan Johansen and Sam Field.
Onto attack and Tyler Roberts has been bright so far this season and should continue to get the nod, while Ilias Chair is always exciting and creative and Chris Willock completed more dribbles than anyone else on the field against Stoke and needs to stay in the side too.
