Carlo Ancelotti is convinced that Nico Paz can be ‘the future’ of Real Madrid and leaves a door open to Roma: ‘Contracts can be terminated or extended.’
The Real Madrid coach is under contract with Real Madrid until 2026, but recent reports in Italy have linked him with a summer move to Roma.
Ancelotti played in the capital as a footballer, winning the Serie A title in 1982-83.

“There are rumours about Roma, but I am very happy here,” Ancelotti told Radio Anch’Io lo Sport, as quoted by Il Messaggero.
“I’m working to remain here for as long as possible. Claudio Ranieri is a friend and is doing really well. Obviously, I have a solid bond with Roma, where I have great memories, but it’s easier said than done. For now, I am happy here, and I don’t think about my future. I have a two-year contract here, but contracts can be terminated or extended.”
Last month, Ranieri was appointed as the third Roma coach for 2024-25. Although he will leave his role at the end of the campaign and enter Roma’s control room, he will have input into the decision of his successor.
Ancelotti confirmed that Real Madrid are monitoring Como talent Nico Paz, a product of the Merengues’ academy.
The Argentinean talent joined Como on a permanent deal last summer, but the Merengues have a buy-back clause that they can activate in 2025 or 2026.
“We are closely following Paz. He’s a great talent,” added Ancelotti, as quoted by Gianluca Di Marzio.
“I think he’ll benefit from this season away from Madrid. We believe he can be the future of Real Madrid.”
