Ancelotti lends full support to Vinicius following goal for Brazil vs Australia: ‘I’m patient with him’ | OneFootball

The form of Vinicius Jr. has been nothing less than a myth for the footballing world this season, as he appears to be a fraction of the player that was close to winning the Ballon d’Or in 2024.

In fact, many have even sarcastically started a conspiracy theory online that Vinicius has been cloned, in light of the recent changes in his facial hair and overall look.

In terms of performance, Vinicius has scored only one goal for Real Madrid in all competitions this season. But amid poor form, the forward has received support from Brazil national team manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti praises Vinicius Jr.

In the wake of Brazils’ second friendly against Australia, which ended 4-2 in favour of the Selecao, Ancelotti has heaped praise on Vinicius despite his poor form.

“I know Vinicius very well. For me, he’s a fundamental player for Brazil, and he has been throughout my football career, and he will continue to be a key player for Brazil’s future,” he said (h/t SPORT).

Ancelotti shares a good relationship with Vinicius Jr., having worked together at Real Madrid in the past.

The Italian admitted that Vini is not in the best form of his lift right now, but he urged patience with the Brazilian international.

“It’s true that he’s not at his best, nor at his best level, but he can still make the difference, and that’s what he did today. He created our third goal and then scored from the penalty spot.

“I’m patient with Vinícius because he deserves it,” he added.

Despite his poor form overall, it must be noted that Vinicius Jr. did score a goal in the 4-2 win over Australia, converting from the penalty spot.

The Real Madrid forward will hope to maintain that level of performance when Brazil take on India for their third friendly in Kolkata.

But the entire trip to India will be a gruelling one and Vinicius must be careful playing on a pitch which will be far from the ideal conditions that he is used to.

Brazil have already lost Raphinha due to an injury and for Real Madrid’s sake, the team wouldn’t want Vinicius to be the next casualty.
