Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Brazil’s first starting line-up since the 2026 World Cup for Friday’s friendly against Australia in Townsville, with Pedro and Samuel Lino among the substitutes.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the coach listed Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho, Marquinhos, Vitor Reis, Douglas Santos, Danilo, Bruno Guimarães, Estevão, Raphinha, Endrick and Vinícius to start.

He joked that early team confirmations should not become a habit, and underlined that Brazil have a core retained from the World Cup to help the younger players.

Although starting on the bench, the Flamengo pair could feature, as Ancelotti said he plans several second-half changes, mainly from midfield forward. He wants to assess more midfielders and may keep the defence on longer.

Brazil face Australia twice, starting on Friday 25 at seven, Brasília time, at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville.

They meet again on Tuesday 29 at seven, this time at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The schedule concludes on 3 October at 11:00 with a first ever meeting with India at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.
