Corinthians visit Coritiba on Sunday night in round 24 of the Campeonato Brasileiro at Couto Pereira, with Anderson Daronco on the whistle.
According to Meu Timao, Daronco will be assisted by Tiago Augusto Kappes Diel and Luciane Rodrigues dos Santos, with Hieger Tulio Cardoso as fourth official and Daniel Nobre Bins in VAR.
Daronco’s last Corinthians assignment stirred controversy. On 10 May, in the Majestoso that Corinthians won 3-2, he chose not to dismiss Damián Bobadilla for an obscene gesture after checking the pitchside monitor and keeping his original decision.
The incident came at 41 minutes of the first half, moments after São Paulo had equalised. The Paraguayan gestured towards his own bench, bringing his hands near his genital area without touching his body, and both Daronco and VAR Rodolpho Toski Marques dismissed Corinthians’ protest.
Across matches officiated by Daronco, Corinthians have 21 wins, 12 draws and 15 defeats. They have had four penalties given against them, with 104 yellow cards and eight reds shown to their players.
Corinthians sit ninth on 32 points, with Coritiba 10th on 31. Victory could move the visitors up to sixth, depending on other results, trimming the gap to Cruzeiro, fifth on 39, to four points.
