Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola admits he is short of specialist wide players as the Premier League begins, and he hopes to address it before the window closes.

According to TheArgus.co.uk, Paris St Germain forward Bradley Barcola is the top target, while an improved £60 million offer for Albion winger Yankubu Minteh has been turned down.

Iraola dislikes the period between kick-off and deadline because of uncertainty, yet says coaches must adapt while the market remains open. He wanted every position covered by high-level options from 13 July but accepts business takes time. He highlighted the wings as the clearest shortfall.

It looks likely 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha will play wide on the right at Newcastle on Sunday in the Salah role, even though all 30 of his appearances, only 10 of them starts, have been on the left. Twelve months ago he scored a very late winner at St James' Park on his Premier League debut after coming off the bench.

Minteh has impressed on both flanks for the Seagulls, but he is likely to be out for several weeks with injury. Seagulls supporters are following the situation closely.
