Andoni Iraola's Liverpool are still unbeaten across all competitions.

The Spaniard is obviously trying to get his men to figure out his playing style and, once they do this, it does genuinely feel like the Reds could get back to their best.

Obviously, these outcomes are being helped by the solid performances from some players such as Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak, but, if the rest of Liverpool's team can also get to that level, there could be nobody around to stop them.

At the moment, it's clear that there are still a couple of problem positions among Liverpool's ranks so, until they get sorted, some warning signs are still going to pop up.

However, it now feels like the Reds may have just uncovered an answer to one of their main issues.

Liverpool are now interested in re-signing Tyler Morton

Last summer, Liverpool had a massive clear out of their ranks.

Players such as Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Tyler Morton and Jarell Quansah were all moved on.

Of course, this was a necessary evil as, with the amount of money that the Reds spent, they clearly needed to generate some funds back from sales.

But, looking back at last summer now, it feels silly how many solid players Liverpool let go.

That is, especially after the latest update from TEAMtalk on Morton.

"Former Liverpool starlet Tyler Morton is generating a huge amount of interest as his excellent form with Lyon continues, with the Reds among a plethora of sides alerted by his performances," they wrote.

"Though, as sources have told TEAMtalk, Andoni Iraola’s side are among SEVEN Premier League sides now keeping tabs on the midfielder.

"TEAMtalk understands Liverpool have continued to monitor Morton’s progress and club sources admit he is someone they are keeping tabs on, with his form in France even leading to suggestions that the midfielder could eventually return to Anfield.

"However, Liverpool are not alone in their admiration of Morton, and sources insist up to seven Premier League sides are keeping tabs on his progress and could be tempted to launch a bid as soon as the January window opens for business in just 99 days’ time."

The fact that the rumour mill is already linking Morton back to Liverpool proves how silly of a move it was for the Reds to let him go.

Admittedly, under Arne Slot he probably wouldn't have had a chance of breaking into the first-team squad but, from his Under-21 performances and his season with Hull, Liverpool should have known he was the real deal.

Last season, when he first joined Lyon, the Englishman was let loose and was probably seen as one of Ligue 1's best midfielders at the start of the campaign.

During the 43 games he played, he was used as a defensive midfielder in 37 of them and contributed to five goals across all competitions.

This ability to help get the ball into the back of his opponents net is one of the main reasons why Liverpool need to bring him back.

However, the fact that he's a natural number six and would be classed as homegrown at club is a massive bonus.

At the moment, it's anyone's guess what could happen but, with Morton and Quansah both being linked with a return to L4, a reunion could be on the table over the next 12 or so months.
