Liverpool have SOLD Curtis Jones.

The 25-year-old midfielder has called time on his Anfield career - joining Inter Milan for £30m.

The midfield departures may not end there with Stefan Bajcetic expected to rejoin Celta Vigo should a deal be struck. Liverpool could also do business over James McConnell later in the window with the youngster perhaps moving out on loan.

Those readjustments could potentially open the door to an incoming deal - with sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Andoni Iraola tipped to move for an old favourite.

Tyler Adams is back on the Liverpool radar

Tyler Adams was recruited by Hughes when he was Bournemouth technical director back in 2023. The American starred in the Cherries midfielder under Iraola - with the Basque tactico now keen on a reunion.

That’s according to a report in Football Insider which claims the new manager wants extra numbers in light of Jones’ sale to Serie A.

Iraola wants Tyler Adams to strengthen midfield

“Iraola is keen to bolster his midfield options before the end of his first transfer window as Liverpool manager,” the report reads.

“The Basque boss has admitted that his squad looks "quite thin" ahead of their season-opener against Newcastle on Sunday.”

The report mentioned Jones leaving for San Siro: “with Bournemouth man Adams on the Reds' radar as a result.”

Adams is under contract until 2028 and it is not anticipated that the South Coast outfit will countenance a sale during the final days of the transfer window.

The former RB Leipzig playmaker is currently out injured having suffered a blow for the USMNT during the FIFA World Cup.

Tyler Adams: Situation summary

Tyler Adams is a 27-year-old United States international whose aggressive, mobile No. 6 profile makes him a valuable option in Bournemouth’s midfield.

A destructive ball-winner with sharp anticipation and relentless counter-pressing, he protects the defence, breaks transitions and can quickly release attacks.

He is particularly effective in a double pivot, where he can hunt higher up the pitch; his composure and ball retention should fit Marco Rose’s demands as the German begins his Bournemouth tenure.

Bournemouth signed Adams from Leeds United in August 2023 on a five-year deal running until June 2028. His quality has rarely been in doubt, but availability remains a consideration after injury issues across recent seasons.

Newcastle and Manchester United have been linked, although Bournemouth are understood to have no intention of selling cheaply, with reports placing their valuation nearer £50m.
