André Almeida joins Racing Santander on loan from Valencia | OneFootball

Racing Santander have signed attacking midfielder André Almeida on loan from Valencia until the end of the season. The move was finalised by Chema Aragón shortly before the window shut. The club had been seeking midfield reinforcements after Gustavo Puerta left for Olympiacos via Nottingham Forest.

According to À Punt, Racing will pay €500,000 for the loan and will cover the player’s €1.2 million salary. The agreement contains no option to buy.

Domingos André Ribeiro Almeida, born in Guimarães in 2000, is a right-footed playmaker standing 1.76m. He joined Valencia in August 2022 from Vitória Guimarães.

Carlos Corberán had not counted on him for this season, and he has yet to play a minute in La Liga.

His summer featured a transfer saga, as he turned down Swansea and waited on Celta, where Claudio Giráldez appeared the keenest. He now heads to Santander while remaining under contract at Mestalla until 30 June 2029.

At Racing, he will compete directly with Sergio Canales for the central attacking berth, with Iván Martín expected to operate as an eight.
