Wolves have confirmed Brazilian midfielder Andre, 24, has signed a new four-year contract to 2030 despite last month’s relegation. The deal includes an option for a further year.

Chairman Nathan Shi said talks had been ongoing and that Andre’s desire to stay had not wavered. He said the midfielder believes in the project and shares the aim of a swift return to the Premier League. Shi described the agreement as a statement of intent and a message to other players.

Andre joined from Fluminense for £18.5m in 2024 and has made 74 appearances in all competitions. He has been capped eight times by Brazil during his time at Molineux. He also scored the winner against Liverpool in March.

High-profile departures were expected this summer. Joao Gomes looks certain to leave, and many supporters had anticipated an Andre exit too.

Instead, the midfielder has committed to Wolves and aligned himself with the club’s aim of returning to the Premier League as soon as possible.
