Andre Onana is nearing an exit from Manchester United following an ambitious move from Trabzonspor.
Ruben Amorim has underlined that he no longer trusts Onana to be his side’s number one by starting his understudy, Altay Bayındır, in the opening three Premier League matches.
The ex-Inter Milan star, who was signed by Erik ten Hag, was handed an opportunity to raise question marks over Amorim’s decision in the Carabao Cup.
Onana’s mistakes gifted Grimsby Town two goals. His wrists were weak in the penalty shootout as well, as he conceded 12 penalties, handing the fourth-tier side a historic win.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report suggesting “circumstances changed” at United when Onana reported back for pre-season injured. Further, Amorim was left unimpressed with the 29-year-old wanting a new contract.
The United head coach pushed Ten Hag’s high-profile signing further down the pecking order by signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on deadline day.
It seems the development has led to Onana accepting he has no future at Old Trafford.
Earlier today, Fabrizio Romano reported that Trabzonspor have reached a verbal agreement with United over a season-long loan deal for the Cameroon international.
Now, Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu claims that Onana has agreed to join Trabzonspor, who are in talks with his representatives to finalise contract terms.
Meanwhile, as per The Athletic, Onana’s move to Turkey is set to be without a fee or option to buy. The Red Devils’ €51m signing is under contract in Manchester until 2028.
It is understood Trabzonspor want him to be available for their clash against Fenerbahce on September 14.
The Süper Lig outfit have been trying to sign a new goalkeeper after selling their captain Uğurcan Çakır to Galatasaray.
