André Silva is close to rejoining Porto, with an agreement largely in place and confirmation targeted by early next week. According to O Jogo, completion depends on medical checks once the 30-year-old returns from a holiday in Japan.

Talks in recent days produced a broad understanding without major hurdles. A two-year proposal is on the table, with scope to adjust, and salary terms are settled. Only minor details remain.

He is due to arrive on a free after opting not to extend at Elche, preferring André Villas-Boas’s invitation to return, where he could play in the Champions League and chase the league title. He would be the second addition for 2026/27 after goalkeeper João Afonso.

He is lined up to cover the exits of Luuk de Jong and Terem Moffi, and Porto are still seeking another forward, with Samu not expected back until November.

For Farioli, who favours rotation, he offers attacking depth without heavy spend. He is expected to take a pay cut, and his return would strengthen the dressing room’s identity.

An Olival graduate, he can be registered in Europe, including the Champions League, as homegrown, as with Diogo Costa and João Costa.

Nine years ago he left Porto for Milan in a €38 million move, then played for Sevilla, Eintracht Frankfurt, Leipzig and Werder Bremen. Last season he scored 10 goals in 31 La Liga matches for Elche.
