Andrea Falcón has retired from professional football at 29 after an injury-hit spell at Benfica. The Spain international said in a social media post that she was ending her career.

She has been sidelined for the past two years with a serious left knee injury and did not register any official minutes for Benfica in the last two seasons.

Falcón joined Benfica in the summer of 2023 from Club América in Mexico.

She won five trophies with the club, one Liga BPI, one Taça de Portugal, one Taça da Liga and two Supertaças.

In her farewell, she reflected that she had given everything to the game, which had given her so much. She left home at 15 and wants to be remembered more for her character than for her titles.

Her spell with Benfica was short but defined by early contributions and silverware before injury limited her role.
