Andreas Pereira has opened 2026 in flying form for Palmeiras, already on five assists and driving their creativity. Nosso Palestra reports that his surge has him closing on the club's recent assist benchmarks.

He has already reached almost half of the leading totals from recent seasons. In 2025, Raphael Veiga and Mauricio delivered 11 assists each, while in 2024 Estêvão also finished on 11.

The standout recent mark belongs to Raphael Veiga, who ended 2023 with 18 assists. Pereira has begun 2026 with that target in sight.

His impact is not just numerical. The midfielder has shown sharp vision, line-breaking vertical passes and technical leadership, staying involved in most of Palmeiras' key attacking moves.

His form has also coincided with a nationally discussed moment in the derby against Corinthians. After a penalty was awarded to the rivals, he approached the spot and wiped his boot, then Depay slipped and missed the chance to open the scoring. Pereira later said he was only cleaning mud from his boot on a loose surface.
