Andreas Pereira faces a sports court complaint over alleged tampering with the penalty spot in Palmeiras v Corinthians, when Memphis Depay slipped and missed.
ESPN Brasil reports that the São Paulo sports court prosecutor is racing to file the complaint quickly so the case can be heard before the final round of the Paulista first phase on Sunday, 15.
If handed the maximum sanction, the midfielder would receive a six-match ban, ruling him out of the remainder of the state competition.
Corinthians were awarded a penalty at Neo Química Arena. As players argued with the referee, Pereira moved to the spot and created small holes. When Depay took the kick he slipped and shot wide, and broadcast cameras later picked up Pereira altering the mark.
While Pereira risks missing the Paulista run-in, Flamengo turn to their schedule. They face Vitória on Tuesday, 10, in the Brasileirão third round at 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Barradão in Salvador.
