Andrés Iglesias has agreed to take charge of Germinal for the 2026 Torneo Federal "A", replacing Darío Gigante for the next campaign.

The Madryn-born coach has worked in the Liga del Valle since 2018, first with J.J. Moreno, then with Guillermo Brown, winning the Apertura 2024, before a brief spell at Gaiman FC.

He spent last season with Club Empleados de Comercio, contending in both Apertura and Clausura and enjoying a good run in the Torneo Regional Federal Amateur 2025/26, the club’s first. The move returns him to professional competition, as with Guillermo Brown at the end of Primera Nacional 2024. He also played for Germinal in 2015 at left-back, arriving with Emanuel Orieta from Moreno.

'Reaching an agreement with the Germinal board makes me very happy, because for me this is a new challenge and I have taken it with all the seriousness the situation demands.' He told Diario EL CHUBUT.

'I know what is coming will not be easy, especially building the new team, because we are practically starting from scratch. Adding players from the area is a possibility, but that will be assessed in due course.'

'Right now nothing is certain, as it is estimated the Federal "A" would not start until late February or early March. It could even be modified because of the World Cup.'
