Corinthians released behind-the-scenes footage on Sunday from their 1-0 win over Palmeiras in the Copa do Brasil, the Saturday result sending the Brabas into the last 16 and knocking out their rivals.
According to Meu Timao, the Corinthians TV piece opens with aerial shots of Allianz Parque, intercut with dressing-room scenes and clips from recent Derbies, before moving to the squad’s preparations and warm-up.
During the warm-up, Andressa Alves rallied team-mates by recalling the 3-2 Brasileiro defeat that marked Emily Lima’s debut, urging them to honour the shirt and produce a response.
In the dressing room, assistant Jaqueline Ucella told the players to be protagonists and give no space. Head coach Emily Lima stressed big games are to be won, asked for a firm first duel if needed, noted 17 prior Derby wins and said it would be an 18th.
The video then shows Corinthians creating danger, including two clear chances for Jaqueline, before Gabi Zanotti struck late, turning in a fine cross past Tapia.
It ends with embraces and songs on the pitch as qualification is celebrated. Corinthians’ next official match is in July after a World Cup break, against Ferroviária on 17 July in the Campeonato Paulista, preceded by friendlies with the United States Under-23s on 5 and 9 June.
