Having seen his loan move to Nantes become permanent after Les Canaris avoided relegation from Ligue 1, former Nice striker Andy Delort may not be staying in the west of France for too long.

The Algerian international – previously of Tigres, Toulouse and Montpellier as well – failed to register a goal in Ligue 1 during his half-season with Nantes. He did, however, contribute two goals to a Coupe de France run which ultimately saw them miss out on retaining their title at the final hurdle, losing 5-1 in the final to Toulouse.

According to L’Équipe, Delort already wants to leave the club – a feeling of discontent notably stemming from his difficult relationship with former manager Antoine Kombouaré, who left four games before the end of the campaign.

Several teams from the Middle East are said to have shown an interest in the 31-year-old in the past few weeks, as have Olympiacos. Delort could also have the option of remaining in France, with Montpellier potentially making a move for their former striker in order to replace the outgoing Elye Wahi.
