A cloud of uncertainty hangs over Andy Diouf's time at Inter Milan, as the Franco-Senegalese midfielder finds himself firmly on the fringes of the squad. Despite his high-profile move, the player has yet to break into the plans of manager Cristian Chivu, having been granted a mere 31 minutes of playing time since his arrival.

This perplexing situation has naturally sparked speculation about a potential January exit. However, according to journalist Matteo Moretto, a mid-season departure is categorically "impossible." The barrier is not a lack of interest, but a strict UEFA regulation that prevents a player from being registered for three different clubs in a single season. Having started the campaign with RC Lens before his €20 million switch to Inter, Diouf is locked in with the Nerazzurri until the summer.

His current predicament adds an ironic twist to his transfer saga. Moretto reveals that Napoli had actually made the first serious move for the player during the summer window. Yet, it was Inter who surged ahead with a compelling offer, ultimately convincing Diouf to choose the black-and-blue of Milan over the blue of Naples. For now, the young midfielder must wait patiently, his immediate future dictated by a UEFA rule rather than his own form or his manager's selection.
