Liverpool registered another win under their belt as they overpowered Southampton by 3-2 in the Premier League on Sunday. Their next game is scheduled against Real Madrid at home in the Champions League on Wednesday.
It will be an opportunity for the Reds to test themselves and evaluate where they stand. Moreover, this game will also be important for their confidence considering the fact that the Arne Slot’s side will face Manchester City after dealing with the Spanish outfit.
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher has done well so far in the absence of Alisson Becker. It will be a good test for the former goalkeeper. Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t participate in the previous game due to a hamstring concern. However, he should be ready to take onto the field as the right-back replacing Conor Bradley.
Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk have been doing well at the heart of the defence and there are no doubts over his selection. Left-back Andy Robertson is at risk of losing his spot to Kostas Tsimikas.

Midfield
Alexis Mac Allister could talk into the XI at the expense of Curtis Jones. The Argentine will partner up with Ryan Gravenberch in the middle of the park. The latter midfielder has been incredible this season so far and a lot will be expected from him.
Dominik Szoboszlai has been doing well in the advanced role and he should be continued. He will have Mohamed Salah’s company on the right flank. On the other side, Luis Diaz is the prime contender ahead of Cody Gakpo.
Darwin Nunez will surely lead the offensive line and be instrumental in creating spaces for exploitation.
Alisson Becker (hamstring) and Diogo Jota (abdominal) are the confirmed absentees while Federico Chiesa should be making his return slowly.
