Former Santos prospect Ângelo is thriving in a more central role for Al-Nassr and has set his sights on the new campaign after a title-winning finish last season. According to Diario Do Peixe, he has already joined pre-season with the squad.
Switched inside at the request of Jorge Jesus, who left after lifting the Saudi Pro League title, he says the change has been key, crediting the coach’s backing and the team’s title push.
Last term he played 40 games, recording eight goals and 12 assists, roughly a contribution every two matches and among the team’s leading providers. Al-Nassr now prepare for the domestic season and the AFC Champions League, which offers a route to the Club World Cup.
He describes pre-season as intense and says the group remain focused on tougher tests ahead, working over the coming months to chase their objectives.
The season opens on 15 August, when Al-Nassr host Al-Fateh in Riyadh in round one of the Saudi Pro League.
With the club since September 2024 alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Ângelo has 78 appearances, 10 goals and 24 assists to date.
He joined from Chelsea in 2024 after leaving Santos in 2023, with the Brazilian club later receiving around R$ 8.5 million linked to his switch. He was unused by Chelsea’s first team and had a loan at Strasbourg, where he played 25 times and recorded four assists.
