Angers have made an approach for Lazio midfielder Reda Belahyane, and a late-window move could follow. According to The Laziali, the Ligue 1 side have asked about the 22-year-old.

Belahyane is among several options on Angers’ shortlist as they seek to strengthen their midfield before the transfer deadline.

The Morocco international was born and raised in France, coming through Aubervilliers before time in the academies of Red Star FC, Montfermeil and OGC Nice. He joined Hellas Verona in January 2024, then moved to Lazio for €10.5 million in February 2025.

Game time has been scarce under Marco Baroni and Maurizio Sarri, and the early signs point to a similar role under Gennaro Gattuso. Since signing for the Aquile he has made 21 appearances, recorded two assists and is yet to score. His contract runs until June 2030.

Gattuso’s first-choice midfielders are Kenneth Taylor, Nicolo Rovella and Davide Frattesi, with little cover beyond them. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is injured, while teenagers Bruno Galassi and Adrian Przyborek are still untested. That lack of depth could make Lazio wary of sanctioning Belahyane’s exit unless a replacement is secured.
