According to a report from Foot Mercato, Angers have rejected Crystal Palace’s first offer for Sidiki Chérif (19). The Premier League club have proposed an initial loan deal with a mandatory purchase option, which Le SCO believe to be unsatisfactory.

Palace have proposed a €4m loan fee with a €12m purchase option in their initial offer to secure the striker’s services. This has been rejected by the Ligue 1 club, who are demanding a fee in the region of €25m and €30m for the French youth international. A fee in this region would be a record sale for the Pays de Loire outfit.

Crystal Palace reluctant to pay large fee for Chérif

The East London club are reluctant to pay such a large fee for a 19-year-old forward during the winter transfer window, Foot Mercato understands. Angers also want a permanent transfer. If a deal is to be agreed, the Eagles are likely to have to make concessions; otherwise, one of several other interested clubs may strike.
