Angers SCO close to signing Joseph Kalulu from Pau on four-year deal

Angers SCO are closing in on Pau left-back Joseph Kalulu, 21, to strengthen the left side of their defence.

According to L'Équipe, an agreement is in place with Ligue 2 side Pau, where Kalulu is contracted until June 2027. The fee has not been disclosed, and Basel had also shown interest.

The move would take him into the French top flight, with a four-year contract awaiting him in Maine-et-Loire. He was among eight nominees for Ligue 2’s young talent award last season.

With Jacques Ekomie set to depart, Kalulu could find opportunities for regular minutes at the highest level as he develops.

For Angers and the player, it could prove a mutually beneficial gamble.
