The Ligue 1 match between Angers and Lille, set for Sunday at 17:15, could be postponed after severe weather triggered widespread flooding. Storm Pedro is sweeping across France, bringing heavy rain that could affect the 23rd round schedule.
After a further overnight deterioration that left districts flooded, Maine-et-Loire prefect François Pesneau asked LFP president Vincent Labrune to postpone the game and said a decision is likely today, also contacting the Nord prefect in liaison with LOSC, according to Ouest-France. The department is on red flood alert with Loire-Atlantique and Charente-Maritime.
The Raymond-Kopa Stadium is not directly threatened by the river Maine’s floodwaters, but access is complicated by road closures. Police resources are heavily committed to relief work, so the fixture is not a priority for the authorities.
For Nantes, there are currently no weather concerns in liaison with the Loire-Atlantique prefecture, even though the department remains on red alert from Météo-France. The meeting with Le Havre on Sunday at 17:15 is set to go ahead.
Toulouse v Paris FC on Saturday at 19:00 is also due to be played. Although the Garonne rose earlier in the week, no flood risk is anticipated in the next 48 hours and even less in the days ahead. With the Stadium and training centre on l'île du Ramier, surrounded by the river, municipal services remain vigilant and in contact with the Haute-Garonne prefecture.
