Another Barcelona star ruled out of Elche meeting | OneFootball

Barcelona will be without the services of defensive star Andreas Christensen for the club’s upcoming meeting with Elche.

This comes with the Dane yet to recover from a calf injury.

Stopper Christensen has for his part endured a difficult time of things over the last couple of weeks.

After first coming down with a bout of illness, the former Chelsea man was forced to sit out Barcelona’s Champions League clash against Olympiacos.

Then, after recovering, he suffered a fresh fitness problem during training.

Christensen also missed last weekend’s Clásico defeat at the hands of Real Madrid as a result.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word doing the rounds in Spain on Friday is anything to go by, the 29-year-old will not be available for Barcelona’s next outing, either.

As per a report from Diario AS, Christensen is ‘still being carefully monitored’, and will not be risked against Elche on Sunday.

He joins the likes of Gavi, Pedri, Joan García and Raphinha in being ruled out of the latest round of La Liga action.
