Another Barcelona youngster set to be called up for pre-season training with Hansi Flick’s squad | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has already made the call to afford one of the most highly-regarded members of the club’s youth ranks a call-up to pre-season training at senior level this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Toni Fernández as the player in question.

Toni, for his part, has long been considered a potential star in the making behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Still just 16 years of age, the attacker played a prominent role for Barca Atlètic this past season, racking up eight goals and three assists in 23 league appearances.

And one individual on whom Toni’s talents have not gone at all overlooked is the aforementioned Hansi Flick.

The Spanish starlet was called up to first-team training for the first time last summer, thoroughly impressing Barca’s headmaster and his staff.

And as per Sport, this will be the case once more in a few weeks’ time:

‘Flick has met throughout the week with the homegrown players who will be added to the first team from the first day of preseason. Toni Fernández will be on this roster.’

Toni will join the likes of Jofre Torrents, Juan Hernández and Pedro Fernández in being afforded a chance to impress on the senior stage this summer.
