Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Monaco sporting director Thiago Scuro as a potential candidate to replace the departing Edu in that role at the Emirates Stadium.
Scuro has impressed during his time with Ligue 1 giants Monaco, and it seems he’s now emerging as a candidate for the Gunners, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.
Edu is also highly regarded within the game and surely won’t be easy for Arsenal to replace, but his fellow Brazilian Scuro certainly looks like an option worth considering.
Former players like Per Mertesacker have also been linked with Arsenal amid uncertainty over who could replace Edu.
Arsenal fans will hope whoever comes in next can continue Edu’s smart work in the transfer market, and Scuro has certainly done well in that department at Monaco.

Di Marzio’s report claims Scuro is a tough negotiator, with the 43-year-old overseeing some big sales by the French club.
Scuro has also worked with the Red Bull group in the past, and they’re also well known for identifying top young talents and selling them for a profit.
Monaco are also flying high in the Champions League this season, with Scuro clearly helping to bring through young players and develop them well in a positive environment.
Arsenal will surely not rush into a big decision like this, but Scuro clearly looks like a strong candidate and it will be interesting to see if he emerges as one of the favourites for the role.
