Chelsea’s pursuit of Rennes defender Jérémy Jacquet could allow Aaron Anselmino to return to Borussia Dortmund, despite his abrupt recall earlier this afternoon.
Sky Germany reports that Anselmino’s situation may be tied to Chelsea’s attempts to sign the 20-year-old, with Rennes currently blocking the move.

Dortmund are now without a key player, and a swift comeback has not been ruled out if circumstances change.
Jacquet’s price is likely to fall in the summer as his contract shortens, so a January sale could appeal to the Ligue 1 club.
If the transfer happens, it would at least be financially justifiable for Chelsea to release Anselmino, and a return to BVB could follow.
