Paris FC are expected to part ways with head coach Antoine Kombouaré in the next few days, according to Le Parisien. The former PSG and FC Nantes manager oversaw a remarkable upturn in performance last season to steer the promoted Ligue 1 side well clear of the drop zone after replacing the dismissed Stéphane Gilli. Kombouaré was initially contracted until 2027, but it seems the two parties have reached an impasse over a contract extension.
Kombouaré has reportedly asked sporting guarantees regarding the quality of the PFC squad at his disposal next season, on top of a one-year contract extension. Le Parisien understands that Paris FC and Kombouaré are yet to reach an agreement, paving the way for the 62-year-old head coach to leave.
Alongside negotiations with Kombouaré, Paris FC have already sounded out candidates to fill in a potential managarial vacancy. Former Strasbourg and Chelsea FC head coach Liam Rosenior is reportedly highly rated by the club’s owners. L’Equipe reported recently that Rosenior wanted to take a break from management after his ill-fated stint at Chelsea.
Former Morocco manager Walid Regragui is reportedly out of the race to succeed Kombouaré. As for current Marseille head coach Habib Beye – who is expected to be replaced by Bruno Genesio – his profile is not unanimously appreciated within PFC.
