One of the outstanding performers of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign so far - Antoine Semenyo has established himself in scores of Fantasy Football teams this season with very good reason.
The Bournemouth forward has been exceptional thus far for Andoni Iraola's side and, with six goals, he currently only trails Manchester City metronome Erling Haaland (9) in the top flight goal charts.
In this article, we dig into the numbers behind Semenyo’s explosive start — and explore how his form captures the spirit of Iraola’s relentless, high-octane Cherries.
Two-footed sharp shooter
What is immediately obvious when you dig into Semenyo's Premier League numbers is that the Ghana international - who started his country's 5-0 win over Central African Republic on Wednesday - is not afraid to get his shots off with either foot.
Second to Haaland for total shots taken, with 17, Semenyo has taken the vast majority of his strikes from inside the box: eight of them with his right foot, eight with his left foot and one with his head. In line with this trend, three of his goals have been scored with his right foot and the remaining three with this left peg.
Strong in 1v1s
Iraola's energetic, high-pressing Cherries look to force errors and press hard in their opponents' defensive third, and when they gain possession Semenyo has the dribbling skills to make progress fast.
Fifth in the top tier for successful dribbles, with 15, the 25-year-old is formidable with the ball at his feet - and, harking back to our last point, his willingness to shoot with either foot makes him a defender's nightmare.
What's more, Semenyo can more than hold his own in the air. At present, only four forwards (Igor Thiago, Beto, Rodrigo Muniz and Jorgen Strand Larsen) have won more aerial duels than the Ghanaian (16).
A creative streak
Semenyo's own goal threat is heightened by the fact he is also supplying his team-mates with chances. One of only 24 players to reach double figures for key passes this season, Semenyo (10) has variety in his game.
In terms of shot-creating actions this season, only Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes (43) and Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson (32) have more than the Bournemouth man (30) this season.
The main man
In almost certainly the best form of his career so far, Semenyo has established himself as Bournemouth's 'go-to' attacker this season and the Cherries' confidence in him is paying dividends.
The forward's six goals and three assists this season make him the second most productive player in the Premier League this season (again behind only Haaland!) and, remarkably, Semenyo has been involved in a whopping 82% of the Cherries' goals. No player in the top flight has been involved in a higher percentage of their team's goals.
A perfect match
Semenyo's individual contribution must also be viewed as part of Bournemouth's collective excellence.
The south coast club are currently fourth in the Premier League; their only league defeat coming on the opening day against reigning champions Liverpool.
After narrowly missing out on Europe, the Cherries look capable of improving on their ninth-placed finish last season, and their intense brand of football perfectly suits Semenyo's attributes.
Ranked topped in the Premier League for passes-per-defensive-action (which effectively measures pressing intensity) and second for high turnovers forced (55), the Cherries' tactics are helping Semenyo to cause havoc.
If Semenyo and Bournemouth keep this up, they won’t just be Fantasy Football favourites — they’ll be one of the stories of the season.
