Manchester City have now booked in a medical for incoming attacker Antoine Semenyo, according to new reports.

The latest update represents the clearest indication yet that the long-running pursuit of the Bournemouth forward is approaching its conclusion, following days of controlled messaging from both clubs and careful management of the player’s recent match involvement.

It has previously been reported that the two clubs reached an agreement in principle after productive discussions over the structure of payments linked to Semenyo’s £65 million release clause. While Bournemouth have publicly maintained that nothing had been “signed,” that stance has largely reflected administrative sequencing rather than any breakdown in talks.

On the player’s side, there have been no outstanding issues for some time. Semenyo is believed to have verbally agreed personal terms with City, committing to a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium worth approximately £150,000-per-week.

And now, according to the information of Sky Sports News’ Lyall Thomas, Antoine Semenyo is booked in for a medical with Manchester City on Thursday, with formal steps expected to progress after Bournemouth’s home clash against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The timing of the medical fits neatly with previous reporting that Tottenham would likely represent Antoine Semenyo’s final appearance for the Cherries, following earlier outings against Chelsea and Arsenal.

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola acknowledged the “noise” surrounding the forward during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon, while conceding that market dynamics point towards an imminent departure.

Assuming no late complications, attention will now turn to official confirmation from Manchester City, with paperwork expected to be finalised shortly after the medical is completed.

The club are keen to have Antoine Semenyo available as soon as possible, particularly given the congested schedule and Pep Guardiola’s desire to refresh his attacking options, with Exeter in the FA Cup third round or Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg earmarked as first games for involvement.

For supporters, the coming days should finally bring clarity after weeks of incremental updates. With the medical now scheduled and all major components of the deal aligned, Antoine Semenyo’s move to Manchester City appears to be entering its final phase.
