Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has announced a personal documentary charting his route to the Premier League and back into the Germany team, due to air this month.
The player said in a post that it gives an honest look at his family, passion and the people who helped him, adding that those who only know him as a footballer do not yet know the full story.
Stach, 27, became a fans’ favourite after joining from Hoffenheim last summer. The six ft four ins midfielder is a goalscorer, a free-kick specialist and a YouTuber with a channel for quirky videos and street interviews.
He enjoyed a stellar first season in the English top flight and returned to the Germany set-up in March, but an end-of-season injury meant he missed selection for the World Cup.
Titled ‘ANTON STACH - Just a Normal Way to the Top’, the film premieres on 29 June on DF1 in Germany. It will also be available on SPORTDIGITAL Fussball and SPORTEUROPE.TV.
He closed his message with a get-well wish to Nico Schlotterbeck, ruled out of the rest of the World Cup with an ankle injury. The pair have appeared together seven times for Germany at Under 21 and senior level.
