Anton Stach left the London Stadium on crutches and in a protective boot after Leeds United reached the FA Cup semi-finals on penalties at West Ham. Daniel Farke criticised the decision-making around the incident that injured his midfielder.

Stach was played through and shot, Alphonse Areola saved, then Max Kilman lunged into the follow-up challenge and no penalty was awarded. According to LeedsLive, Farke said Stach should have been given a spot-kick.

The Leeds manager offered an early diagnosis of a ligament injury and said they would have to wait to assess it. There is no timeline and no clarity on severity.

Stach departed in visible discomfort, underlining concern for a key player in Farke’s side. Other reports also indicated Kilman was fortunate to avoid conceding a penalty.

The tie finished 2-2 before Leeds won the shootout, booking a first semi-final since 1987. Attention has quickly turned to Stach’s condition.

There is no suggestion yet of how long he could be unavailable. A ligament problem and the manner of his exit add to the worry, with Leeds also fighting to avoid relegation.
