Napoli manager Antonio Conte did not shy away from praising his men for the performance against Roma that led his side to a comfortable 1-0 win.
After the match, Conte spoke to Sky Sport.
“Before the game I told the lads not to look at the others, not to look at the standings and to think about ourselves,” said Conte.
“We have to improve in what we are working on. We have to take steps to raise our level. Today for 70-75 minutes the team satisfied me a lot.”
“We dominated the game, we created several situations where we could have been more clinical. Then when you score and play against Roma, who are a great team because last year they finished above us and they had a great transfer campaign – it becomes complicated.”
“They also have physically structured players. We conceded a hit on the crossbar on a set piece that we have to be more careful about, but I am satisfied.”
“It wasn’t easy against a Roma that changed its third coach. There was a lot of motivation on their part, I saw a mature performance. We had to manage the last 20 minutes better.”
