Antonio Mirante is delighted to have signed with AC Milan.
The veteran goalkeeper was a free agent after being released by Roma last summer. He's joined Milan as cover for Mike Maignan, with the Frenchman undergoing wrist surgery this week.
Mirante said, "The negotiation was a lightning bolt. The call came in the afternoon after Mike's injury, to whom I wish good luck. I am waiting for him. The negotiation was immediate, I accepted Milan because we could not even discuss it.
"It is right to bring human qualities at my age in a dressing room that has enthusiasm, which is always positive and this is a great value."
On Milan coach Stefano Pioli, he continued: "We have always faced each other, I have always had the impression of a trained coach, who arrived at Milan at the best moment and this has allowed him and me to grow exponentially. I believe this marriage will last for a long time."
"Milan gives the impression of knowing what they are doing, of playing fast, of having the perception of knowing what they are doing. Always. They have an idea, a very specific identity: at this moment Milan can give a hard time to everyone".
